Welcome to the Virtual Reader section.   One of Rifidi's primary features is the ability to behave exactly like a real reader.   In this section we talk about the different reader's that we support and how to emulate them in Rifidi.

The following is a list of readers that we currently support and the level of functionality that we can emulate.   Please click on the link for each reader to see a video showing a Virtual Reader in action.

Alien ALR 9800 Gen 2 Reader
  • Full TCP, telnet, and handshake Emulation
  • Over 90% of commands emulated and functional
  • Full Support for reboot, shutdown and state management commands
  • Support for all tag read operations - Gen1, Gen2
  • Support for custom tag formats and persist time
  • Tested with Alien RFID Tool (that ships with reader)
  • Tested with BEA RFID Edge Server 2.2
  • Tested with University of Arkansas Tag-Centric server
AWID MPR 2010 Gen 2 Reader (Serial)
  • Full Serial port and handshake Emulation
  • Over 70% of system commands emulated and functional
  • Over 50% of Tag modes emulated
  • Support for Gen 1 and Gen 2 Tag reading Modes
  • Tested with AWID Testing Tool (ships with reader)
