Welcome to the quick start guide for Rifidi.
This guide will try to stay true to its name and give you a quick step-by-step guide on how to get up and running with Rifidi.
These instructions are geared for the Windows user.
For Linux and MacOS instructions please visit our website.

Rifidi comes as an automated installable package for multiple platforms.
You can download the different version of Rifidi from The Rifidi Sourceforge Download Page.
You can also get the Windows-Only version from The Rifidi Home Page.
Rifidi is very lightweight and written in Java.
The following are it's minimum requirements:
Rifidi for Windows is packaged as a self executing installer.
To install Rifidi simply double click on the Rifidi-1.0.exe and follow the setup instructions.
You are required to have Java 1.5 or higher on your machine or the setup will not continue. If you wish to run Serial port readers then please check the RxTx option in the install shield wizard.
The Installation will create a program group in your start menu and provide a link to Rifidi.exe.
Simply run this file to start Rifidi.
You can also go to the directory where you installed Rifidi and double click on Rifidi.exe. Now that you have Rifidi started you can now start to use Rifidi to create readers and tags. The extremely quick steps for working with a reader are as follows:
