This guide will tell you how to set up and use an Alien ALR 9800 reader with the Rifidi software.
This section assumes that you have read the 'Quick Start' section and that you are familiar with the Rifidi tool itself.
This section also assumes a little familiarity with the Alien ALR 9800 reader and the Alien Test Tool that comes with it, which will be used to test the reader. Pre-Requisites The only pre-requisites to get an Alien Reader up and running is to have some tool to test. You can use the Alien tool or just Telnet to connect and log into the reader. For the purposes of the this demo we use the Telnet client of the Alien tool and the visual tag functions of the Alien tool.
The following video demonstrates the emulation of an Alien reader.
It walks you through performing some common operations such as creating a reader, creating tags and generating read events.
