This guide will tell you how to set up and use an AWID MPR 2010 Serial reader with the Rifidi IDE.   This section assumes that you have read the 'Quick Start' section and that you are familiar with the Rifidi tool itself.
This section also assumes a little familiarity with the AWID MPR reader and the demo application that comes with it, which will be used to test the reader.

Pre-Requisite
Before the AWID reader can be set up, virtual serial ports first must be set up.   There is a very good open source application called Com0Com that can do this.   If you prefer a commercial application then a good one is Virtual Serial Port Driver by Eltima.

Additional information about either Com0Com or Virtual Serial Port Driver can be found in their respective websites.   Our videos and instructions demonstrate the use of Com0Com for the purposes of creating these virtual ports.

The following video demonstrates the emulation of an AWID reader.   It walks you through performing some common operations such as creating a com port, creating a reader, creating tags and generating read events.

To play the movie first use the Play button.   Then please use the forward and back buttons to advance through the demo.
